DefinitionRich card

An RCS rich card is a message unit combining media, a title, a description and action buttons, which can be stacked into a swipeable carousel.

A rich card is an RCS message format that bundles an image or video, a title, a short description and up to several action buttons into one visual card. Multiple rich cards can be combined into a carousel that customers swipe through, like a mini product catalogue inside their messaging app.

Why it matters

Rich cards turn a text message into a shoppable, clickable experience:

  • Show a product, offer or event visually
  • Let customers act instantly: buy, book, call, get directions or reply
  • Track which card and which button got clicks

Anatomy of a rich card

  • Media: an image, GIF or short video
  • Title: the headline, short and clear
  • Description: one or two lines of detail
  • Buttons / suggestions: "Shop now", "Call us", "Get directions", "Remind me"

Example

A fashion brand sends a carousel of four new-arrival cards, each with "View" and "Buy" buttons, to opted-in customers. The brand sees which product drew the most taps and restocks accordingly.

Cost note

On RapBooster, rich messages to Indian numbers cost ₹0.45 each from credits (excl. GST); the RCS app itself is free.
